Just sharing about the January
Social Media Surgery event which took place at Manchester Metropolitan University's Business Incubator
Innospace on Chorlton Street on
Tuesday 12th January 2010 from
2pm to 4pm. You can read about the
first event on 8th December 2009
here.
Social Media Surgery events are informal, free-to-attend, afternoon business networking events based around a panel made up of social media practitioners and agencies discussing and dissecting social media project issues presented by the attending crowd.
The event was pretty well attended considering it was taking place on the first Tuesday of the year (most businesses were closed for an extra week after the Christmas break due to
arctic weather conditions).
There were 7 attendees in total (almost everyone that
signed up to attend, did) and the Social Media Surgeons on duty were:
Jon Clements (

Staniforth
Adrian Slatcher (

Manchester Digital Development Agency (MDDA)
Chi-chi Ekweozor (
@realfreshtv) of Internet TV and social media consultancy
Real Fresh TV
Kicking off with a social media case study by
Lisa Tse of popular Manchester Chinese restaurant
Sweet Mandarin, delivered by email because she couldn’t make it (sadly), and featuring group consultations and advice to 4 very different businesses/organisations keen to make more use of social media in a business context, the 2 hours flew by very quickly.
